A book cover titled "The Last Love Note" by Emma Grey, featuring a beach scene, an airplane, and beach umbrellas.

The Last Love Note

Emma Grey

This book had me laughing and crying all through out.  This story is about losing your husband in your late thirties and then figuring out what to do next; that choice between surviving or thriving.  I was blown away by the candor and vulnerability that the author brought to the story.  I then learned that the author lost her husband in real life and this book was one way of the ways that she chose to grieve.  Wow!  Just wow.  We own a copy of this book here at APLD and the audiobook is available on Hoopla and the e-book is available on Libby.  Let us know if you need any assistance reading or listening to this book on your phone or tablet.  Until then, happy reading!

The Blonde Identity

Ally Carter

Spies, Twins, Mix-ups galore and the hottest guy she has ever seen; what’s not to like!  For a person who doesn’t read a lot of suspenseful books, this book was a bit out of my comfort zone but I took a chance.  I’m SO glad I did.  I listened to this book via Hoopla, but it is also available on Libby and we own a copy here at APLD.  I would highly recommend this one and let us know if you need any help checking this book out!  Until then, happy reading!

My Grandfather's Song

Phùng Nguyên Quang and Huynh Kim Liên

Long ago, Grandfather came to a new land. Fish swam in the water, birds chirped in the sky, monkeys played in the trees. And in this wilderness, with his own two hands, Grandfather built a house. It wasn’t easy. But the land gave him what he needed. And it became his home. Decades later, his grandson will have all he needs: a head full of memories, two capable hands, and the heart to appreciate family, nature, and home. This picture book creates a warm symphony of conservation and the sacred bond between grandparent and child, perfect for baby showers, birthdays, and family celebrations.
